The residents of Harrelson county, a small logging community, consisting of animals and humans living and working together in harmony, are suddenly thrown into the national headlines. A local wolf apparently attacked a young girl, known locally as “Little Red Riding Hood,” at the home of her elderly grandmother. The nine-year-old girl, Sarah, is the daughter of Senator Hood, the minority leader of the senate, and the local DA, Pamela Peahen, promises to vigorously prosecute Leroy Wolf who has been charged with aggravated assault.
Interest in the case escalated when it was reported that the world famous Perry Possum had been retained by the Wolf family to defend Leroy. What, at first, seemed to be a simple trial, slowly evolved into a very difficult case, with surprises at every turn. Perry, his associate Fanny Fox, and Barry Bobcat, a local PI, find this case more challenging that any they had encountered in their years of working together
